Dear Mr. Mansbridge:

In your many interviews with Israeli politicians and settlers, we failed to hear any mention of The Occupation. Shimon Peres spoke of concessions and Israeli security. Since when has the return of a small part of illegally occupied territory, i.e. stolen property, to its rightful owners, been considered a concession by the illegal occupier?
The settler in Gaza spoke of the trees and the home he built and had to evacuate, but was never asked on whose land did he build his home.

We applaud your lucidity but the Canadian public deserve a little more elucidation of the facts and perhaps emphasis that security for Israelis and Palestinians can only be assured if the illegal occupation of Palestinian land is completely and unconditionally terminated, in compliance with international law.

Sincerely,

Ismail Zayid, MD.
