Subject: Bias and twisted logic.

March 29,2006

The Editor,

The Globe & Mail

Dear Editor:

It is hard to imagine a more biased and twisted argument than that displayed by Marcus Gee in his article:{"Ehud Olmert's bittersweet victory" March 29.} We are told the Israeli 'left' offer generous compromises in offering to withdraw from small parts of illegally occupied territory. Hamas is a terrorist organisation but Israeli murder of thousands of Palestinians, demolition of thousands of homes, daily humiliation and other war crimes committed by Israel desrve no mention. The Palestinians offer no Palestinian partner for negotiation. Is Mr. Gee aware of the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory that has been allowed to stand for 39 years, in defiance of international law and repeated Security Council resolutions?

Peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians can only be secured when complete and unconditional termination of this illegal occupation is attained. No negotiations are required to comply with international law.

Sincerely,

Ismail Zayid
