Subject: The Road Map.

Andrea Anderson, in her excellent Commentary on the Road Map, on May 28, tells it as it is. Why does an illegal Israeli occupation ,which has been allowed to stand for 36 years, in defiance of international law and repeated Security Council resolutions, require further three years of negotiations and haggling?  When Saddam Hussein illegally occupied Kuwait, no one said let the Kuwaitis negotiate with Saddam about withdrawal from 40% or 90% of occupied territory.

If Bush and Blair cared for international law or the UN Charter, they would demand immediate and complete unconditional Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, so that the Palestinian people can practice their legitmate right of self determination and the refugees inalienable right of return to their homes, in compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and repeated UN resolutions.

How long must Israel be allowed to remain above international law?
