Dear Editor:

Your editorial {"Barak's timely exit" Feb. 22} continues to regurgitate the statement about "Barak's far-reaching concessions to the Palestinians". Surely it is time to acknowledge that complete withdrawal, let alone partial withdrawal as Barak proposed, from all illegally occupied territories of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, is not a concession. It is merely an act of compliance with international law and repeated Security Council resolutions, that have remained in defiance for over 33 years.

Surely, it is also time to call things by their true names and call on Israel to comply with international law.
