Subject: End the occupation.

The Editor,
The Globe & Mail

Dear Editor:

In your editorial:{ " Israel's right to react" Oct. 7}, You object to international condemnation of Israeli attack on Syrian territory. You ask::
" What would France do if terrorists supported by Spain were blowing up cafes in Paris every week or so?" The answer is simple. If France was occupying Spanish territory, sending its Apaches to bomb and kill daily Spanish men, women and children, demolishing their homes, exproprieting their property and subjecting them to daily humiliation, a Spanish response would not be surprising.

You ask what should be Israel's response? The answer again is simple. Israel must abide by international law and terminate completely its illegal occupation of Palestinian and Syrian territory that has been allowed to stand for 36 years, in defiance of international law and repeated Security Council resolutions.

Yours sincerely,

Ismail Zayid.
