Subject: What is it, if it is not a land grab?

The Editor,
The Globe & Mail

Dear Editor:

Mindy Alter, {letter" Some 'land grab'" Jan.3}, questions the fact that the Wall Israel is building, in multiple significant areas, on illegally occupied Palestinian land, is a land grab. The International Court of Justice, at The Hague, ruled categorically that the Wall is illegal and must be dismantled. Even Israeli minister of Justice, Tzipi Livni, admitted that the Wall is not only for security but also to annex settlements built illegally on occupied Palestinian land.

If Israel and its Canadian apologists are truly concerned about security for Israeli citizens, the answer is simply complete termination of the illegal occupation that has been allowed to stand for for over 38 years, in violation of international law and repeated Security Council resolutions.

Yours sincerely,

Ismail Zayid, MD.
