In your interview this evening with Marcus Gee and Joe Cirincione, Mr. Gee justifies Israeli assassination of Dr. Rantisi by talking glibly about Israel defending its citizens against Palestinian terrorism. Did it occur to Mr. Gee that if Israel does truly care about the security of its citizens, the imperative requirement is to terminate completely and unconditionally its illegal occupation of Palestinian territory, that has been allowed to stand for 37 years, in defiance of international law and repeated Security Council resolutions? This oppressive occupation is the source of all the violence.
