Subject: False excuses

Nov. 10, 2006

The Editor,

the Globe & Mail.

Dear Editor;

Your editorial {"After Beit Hanoun" Nov. 10]} is an extraordinary statement making excuses for Israeli killing of innocent men, women and children in Beit Hanoun, by indiscriminate shelling and bombardment.Over 300 Palestinians have been murdered in the Gaza strip by Israeli attacks over the last four months. The onslaught on Beit Hanoun over the last week is a clear example of war crimes, as confirmed by many international and Israeli human rights groups. Your statement that Israel pulled out of the Gaza Strip is a mere play on words. The Gaza Strip has just been transformed into a large prison with Israel continuing to control its air space and all means of access to the outside world, denying over a million people access to food and health care.

It is time for the Globe and Mail to stop its role as an apologist for Israeli crimes and begin to see the Palestinian people as an oppressed humiliated people under a brutal long illegal occupation that stands in defiance of international law.

Sincerely,
