Subject: Limitless audacity.
July 9,2005
The Editor,
The Guardian Weekly.
Dear Editor:
Re: The article {"We won't give up our nuclear
effort, says Iranian leader" July 1}
The Israeli foreign minister, Silvan Shalom, is
quoted stating:" Faced with the Iranian nuclear threat, the international
community must, more than before, formulate a unified and stern policy towards
Iran." For an Israeli official to make this statement is the height of audacity,
when Israel is the only state in the Middle East which has had for many years
hundreds of nuclear weapons, with the knowledge and connivance of the US and its
allies.
How long must Israel be allowed to remain above
international law?
Yours sincerely.
