The Hon.
Mr. Peter MacKay, MP.
Minster of
Foreign Affairs,
Ottawa.
Dear Mr.
MacKay:
The state
of Israel continues its campaign of killing
Palestinians, almost on a daily basis. The recent abominable crime of killing
an entire family, including three children, sitting on the Gaza beach, is only another link in a
continuing series. Despite this, we are puzzled and shocked by the deafening silence of our government
regards this crime. Yet, we recall your loud statements condemning
Palestinian 'terrorism' for the killing of Israeli civilians. Are Palestinians
less than human, in our government's eyes, and crimes against them less
than worthy of our government's attention?
It is time,
Mr. Mackay, that this policy of double standards is brought to an end, and it
is time that our government practices the principles and policies we claim to
uphold in support of universal human rights and international law.
Yours
sincerely,
Ismail Zayid, MD.
President, Canada Palestine Association
