Subject: Heroes or Dangerous Zealots?

Dear Editor;
Perhaps it is incumbent on Mr. Eric Silver {Under
Siege, July 16} to advise Ms. Wolbromsky that if she wishes "to take
responsibility" and cares for her life and that of her children, she
should not build her home on stolen land.
The victim, even a Palestinian, weak and dehumanized, may still feel aggrieved
and anxious to restore his right to his stolen land.
Holocaust Jewish victims should not accept
the imposition of another holocaust on an innocent people that have committed no
crime against them. They should remember Chaim Weizmann's testimony, in 1946
before The Anglo-American Commission in Jerusalem, when he stated: " I
would not like to do any injustice. The Muslim world has treated the Jews with
considerable tolerance. The Ottoman Empire {of which the Arabs were a part}
received the Jews with open arms, when they were driven out of Spain and
Europe, and the Jews should never forget that". It is clear that Mr.
Silver, Ms. Wolbromsky and many of their Israeli compatriots have forgotten
that.
Yours sincerely
Ismail Zayid, MD.
