Subject: Barak's 'concessions'.

Dear Editor:

Is anyone allowed to inform Gerald Steinberg { " Fit to be tied" Feb. 6} or The Globe & Mail's editorial staff { "The achievements of Israel's Barak" Feb 6} that the Palestinians are not asking for any concessions from Barak or Sharon? They are merely asking for Israeli compliance with international law and Security Council resolutions. They are asking for termination of an illegal occupation that has remained for over 33 years. They are asking for dismantlement for all Jewish settlements on occupied land, as they are illegal and in violation of Security Council resolutions and The Fourth Geneva Convention.

Has the voice of justice withered away and must Israel remain above international law?

Yours sincerely

Ismail Zayid, MD.
