practice.

Dear Editor:
It behooves Mr. Keith Landy, Head of Canadian
Jewish Congress, {"When the anti-racists are racists" July 18}, if he
is truly opposed to racism, to apply an unbiased view to Israeli practices
against its own non-Jewish citizens. I could list a whole cascade of racist laws
and Israeli practices, but I'll let Israeli citizens and human rights workers
testify to the true racism that emanates from the Zionist ideology and its
application in Israeli practices.
The late Professor Israel Shahak, a holocaust
survivor and the then Chairman of the Israeli League for Civil and Human Rights,
testify to that. He wrote: " It is my considered opinion that the State of
Israel is a racist state in the full meaning of this term: in this state people
are discriminated against, in the most permanent and legal way and in the most
important ares of life, only because of their origin. This racist discrimination
began in Zionism and is carried today mainly in cooperation with the
institutions of the Zionist movement".
Derek Tozer, a wll-known Israeli thinker
stated: " The official policy of the Government [of Israel] is unequivocal.
Arabs, like the Jews in Nazi Gemany, are officially "class B"
citizens; a fact which is recorded on their identity
cards".
That says it all.
Yours sincerely
Ismail Zayid, MD.
