The Editor,
The Guardian Weekly

Dear Editor:

The killing of innocent civilians and children by Suicide bombers or Israeli bombing is criminal and must be condemned. Interestingly, while rockets and condemnation, by Sharon supported by US leaders, are pouring on Arafat and the Palestinians, wreaths are placed by US leaders on the graves of Israeli victims. Need we wonder why the graves of innocent Palestinian shool children, killed by Israeli boopy traps, amongst many others, are less deserving?

Surely it is time for US and world leaders to appreciate that the real problem is the continuing Israeli illegal and oppressive occupation over the Palestinians. Complete termination of this occupation is the only way to allow Israeli and Palestinian school children to go to school and roam the streets in peace and security. That is what is called for and not rockets and condemnation of Palestinians.

Yours sincerely,

Ismail Zayid, M.D.
