I want to congratulate you on the balanced and accurate Commentary by John Dirlik this morning, on the bigoted hateful remarks by Jerry Falwell and his ilk on Islam and the Prophet Mohammad. These comments are part and parcel of the so-called Christian Zionists's support for the Israeli policies, subjugating the Palestinian people, under an oppressive illegal occupation, that has been allowed to stand, for 35 years, in defiance of international law and repeated Security Council resolutions. The practices by this occupation, including extra-judicial assassination, torture, collective punishments, denial of health care, daily humiliation, expropriation of property and creation of illegal settlements are in violation of virtually every article of the Fourth Geneva Convention. These practices, by international law, are war crimes.

We are continually flooded by biased information justifying the unjustifiable in Israeli oppressive practices. Thus it was heartening to hear, for a change, a balanced well-informed commentary on this issue. We believe that our Canadian people deserve such truthful assessment, as displayed in today's Commentary.
