Subject: Falsehoods galore.
23 Dec. 2002

The Editor,
The Globe & Mail.

Dear Editor:

The Globe & Mail continues to excel at providing the platform for the bias and falsehoods of Anne Bayefsky [Dec.24] and her likes of unquestioning Israel apologists.

Ms. Bayefsky is critical of the UN concern for the atrocious conditions that Palestinian children are subjected to, under the oppressive illegal Israeli occupation, being denied schooling, health care, adequate nutrition and all elements of basic humanity. She mentions 100 Israeli children killed during the last two years, but no mention of the hunreds of Palestinian children murdered by Israel. She regurgitates the lie about Palestinian children being used by as human shields by Palestinian 'terrorists' [sic]. She brings up the total falsehood about the racist teaching in Palestinian school textbooks. International scholars, like Professor Nathan Brown of George Washington University, have shown the total falsehood in this charge and the evidence of hate in Israeli school textbooks. Speaking of anti-Semitism, there is no mention of the true anti-Semitism, against Arabs, enunciated by Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yossef, who called for the annihilation of all arabs by missiles, and Moshe Yaalon, Chief of Staff, who called the Palestinians a cancer that should be exterminated by chemotherapy and if unsuccessful by amputation.

It is time that the facts about Israeli oppressive illegal occupation being exposed and the platform denied for the falsehoods regularly deployed to justify these atrocities.

Yours sincerely

Ismail Zayid, MD.
